As a digital nomad, Mark from DSLMag.com has learned some valuable lessons about the importance of preparation when working remotely. In his recent video podcast, he shares his experience of traveling from the Tampa Bay area to the Dallas area, where he encountered several challenges related to internet connectivity.

Mark emphasizes that when you plan to work while traveling, it's crucial to have a backup plan and be prepared for potential issues with Wi-Fi and internet access. He found that the places he visited, even in populated areas, often had poor or non-existent internet service, which hindered his ability to complete the work he had planned.

To address this, Mark recommends upgrading your phone's service to include unlimited hotspot capability, so you can use your phone as a reliable internet connection for your computer. He also suggests being mindful of the fact that many modern apps and programs require a live internet connection to function, even if they are free.

Additionally, Mark advises against making assumptions about the availability of internet access in unfamiliar locations, as the infrastructure can vary greatly from what you're used to in your home area. He encourages digital nomads to be open-minded and prepared for the unexpected when taking their "show on the road".

By sharing these insights, Mark aims to help others in the digital startup community avoid the frustrations he experienced and ensure a more productive and successful remote work experience.
